AutoCAD round 2
How is it?
Had to change the time to monday morning at 11:00.
Most at meetings but Rob came along so we started to draw a trailer.
He catches on quick and I introduced him to my YouTube videos.
I asked him to view those at a later date.
We covered line, copy, erase, move, osnaps to endpoint, mid
we drew circles to establish distances and used offset. we drew lines at an angle.
Once one half of the trailer was completed we used mirror to create the other side.
All good answered Rob when I asked what he thought of autocad and we spoke of how
his students would be able to use this programme.
I showed him a trailer drawing that I did for my last boat, this also contained the calculations
for balance.
Rob is coming next week and is going to bring a sketch with dimensions. He will use this to draw in AutoCAD. We have set a target to draw this and print off.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers

Day one
So the first session has now finished....
So did this go?
Good I think for the first session.
I spent probably one hour on Sunday uploading onto youtube 5 videos. I explained this and asked them all to log on and find them in youtube under the heading autocad basics clovegro with the first video named autocad basics rectangle. Most did this but... a few had problems with the sound, or should i say the lack of sound. After awhile this was overcome. I asked them all to stop viewing these and suggested that they could watch these at home or at a later date.
So the next task was to log onto Autocad and open the programme, then change the programme to basic autocad function... easy for some but others... I should have made a video on this prior.. O I need to do one and post this on youtube... will do this if the need arises.
Gave a quick demo on how and then got the group together and asked next week could they all bring something themselves to draw... ie a wiring diagram or a trailer plan.. most said they would.... perhaps a reminder is a good thing.. thinking back here to something that was sent to me once stating that if follow happened to create use of a programme for a three week period then the chance of uptake was around 95%... need to listen to this advice Christopher.

In the beginning
Once apon a time....
Every thing needs a beginning and this blog site is for the people that want to learning AutoCAD
and for me to communicate with them and reflect on the learning that's happening.
It is my intention to run class in this both in the CAD lab and online if possible.
